Bulgaria: Simeon II Not to Run for Parliament*

Simeon II will not run for parliament, Prof. Georgi Petkanov, Deputy Chief Organizer of the Simeon II National Movement, confirmed.

The Simeon II National Movement Coalition is ready with its candidates' lists. The leading candidate in Burgas is Solomon Passy, President of the Atlantic Club of Bulgaria.

The Secretary of the king's movement, Assoc. Prof. Plamen Panayotov is number one on one of the lists for Sofia.

Nikolai Vassilev, who heads the Central and Eastern Europe Analyses Department of the London-based Lazard Bank, tops the National Movement's list in Varna. His UDF rival there is expected to be Foreign Minister Nadezhda Mihailova.
