An exhibit of photos, taken by university students on the occasion of Europe Day as part of the Blue Night project, is on display in Bulgaria's capital Sofia.

The exhibit is titled "Looks," organizers say, because it is a project about the photographers' outlook and the audience looking at them.

The pictures are authored by students from the Bachelor's Degree Program in Photography at New Bulgarian University. The exhibit is organized by photography lecturers at the University – Antoine Bozhinov and Dinamir Predov while its curator is Verginiya Yancheva, the creator of the first university student photo club in Bulgaria.

On May 7, the Blue Night project took place simultaneously in several European cities – Flori (Italy), Bristol (UK), and Sofia (Bulgaria). The initiative's mission is to spread the message of United Europe among young people through the international language of art, music, and the symbols of peace.

Official guests of the opening included Violeta Stanicic, Head of the Representation of the European Parliament in Bulgaria and MEP, Andrey Kovachev, from the European People's Party (EPP). The officials, along with representatives of the на International Exchange Erasmus Network from Brussels, and foreign students, studying in Bulgaria under the Erasmus program, took part in a discussion about the future of United Europe, held along with the presentation of the photographs.

One of those students, Gianfranco Brusaporci, from Italy, was the moving force behind the inclusion of Bulgaria in "Blue Night" project. He is also a member of JEF – the youth pan-European NGO for United Europe and for the development of European self-awareness.

The exhibit can be seen until May 15 on 15 "Georgi Benkovski" street in Sofia. The photographs are also offered for sale.
