The French police confirmed Saturday that the three people who died in a car crash Thursday, near the city of Bordeaux, have been Bulgarian citizens.

The information was reported by the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry.

The French authorities have identified the three as Mladen Asenov Gadzhev, Zapryan Chudomirov, and Vera Ferdova. The fourth person in the car, Miroslava Rachova, is listed in a hospital near Bordeaux in critical condition.

All four Bulgarians were in France legally and had permanent resident status.

The four were in a BMW driving with high speed when they crashed into a Mercedes SUV which was crossing at green light, according to the French National Police.
