A 50,000-strong protest marched in Belgrade Saturday organized by opposition Serbian Progressive Party and calling for snap elections.
Protestors have requested for a step down of President Boris Tadic and PM Mirko Cvetkovic over what they see as an incompetent and corrupt rule.
Some were carrying signs saying "Enough of This Privileged Regime," "Tadic Out," "Thieves!"
They also demandanded a speeding up of the EU-integration process of Serbia, which they saw as mismanaged on the part of their government.
Progressive Party leader Tomislav Nikolic spoke out fiercely against the cabinet and president and declared he had started a hunger strike Saturday morning.
People in Serbia have been growingly discontent with an ongoing economic slowdown, soaring unemployment of some 26%, and chronically low income.
