Former Bulgarian Interior Minister, Rumen Petkov, is consulting with Bulgarian lawyers and international advisors to decide in which court to file a slander suit against US Ambassador to Sofia, James Warlick.
Petkov, who is currently a Member of the Parliament from the opposition Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) says it is unacceptable for Warlick to "wiggle out" of saying if he had used illegal drugs on the grounds it was a personal matter.
"He is a public figure, so the issue is not private. He does not want to tell and this means every citizen now has doubts about it" the former Minister stated.
"A liar of this scope must receive two things – first, everyone in Bulgaria and the US needs to understand he is a disgusting liar and two, slander is punishable," Petkov declared for the media Monday, speaking from his native city of Pleven.
The former Interior Minister further predicted the US is going to recall the Ambassador no later then August, 2011.
