Hilton Worldwide has formally announced the opening of its 200th hotel in Europe – the Doubletree by Hilton Varna – which is located in the Bulgarian Black Sea resort of Golden Sands.
In a company statement, Hilton Worldwide stated it has opened 50 hotels in the region over the last three years, with 20% of its European estate now comprised of newly introduced brands such as Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, Doubletree by Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn and Hampton by Hilton.
"Doubletree by Hilton Varna - Golden Sands takes the honor of being the 200th hotel, highlighting the growing popularity of the full service brand in Europe with 16 across the region. The Bulgarian property joins the recent opening of Hampton by Hilton Derby City Center, which becomes the eighth Hampton by Hilton in the UK," explains the Hilton Worldwide press statement.
"We are experiencing an incredibly exciting period in our 91-year history, as we look to introduce more guests to more hotels around the world than ever before. In Europe, the popularity of our award-winning brands and performance advantage has enabled us over recent years to rapidly grow our portfolio and help achieve our goals of being market leaders at all levels of the hospitality sector, from the focused-service Hampton by Hilton brand to the timeless luxury of Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts," Simon Vincent, area president Europe, Hilton Worldwide, is quoted as saying.
Doubletree by Hilton Varna - Golden Sands, Bulgaria - opens as the first Doubletree by Hilton hotel in Bulgaria. The newly refurbished hotel will offer full-service accommodations with two restaurants, a poolside bar and grill, lobby bar, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, as well as a spa.
Doubletree by Hilton characteristic qualities include the warm worldwide welcome; comfortable, stylish accommodations and full-service amenities; along with a unique and caring commitment to the communities in which they operate, Hilton Worldwide states.
Hilton Worldwide currently has over 80 hotels in its European pipeline, all scheduled to open in the next three years. Hilton Worldwide's longest serving hotel outside of the Americas is the Hilton Istanbul, which opened in 1955. Some of the region's most notable recent additions include: Hilton Liverpool, Hilton Gdansk, Hilton The Hague, Doubletree by Hilton Novosibirsk, Hilton Garden Inn Lecce and Hampton by Hilton Berlin City West.
With its formal opening, the Doubletree by Hilton Varna has become the first Hilton-branded hotel on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast.
Its pre-opening phase started in the summer of 2010 with the announcement of a franchising contract between Hilton Worldwide and Helios Hotels Jsc, a subsidiary of Tetrareal Jsc.
While top global luxury hotel brands are present in Sofia, the Doubletree by Hilton Varna will be the first facility of such class in Bulgaria outside of the capital.
Doubletree by Hilton Varna is located in a green area of the Golden Sands resort with a sea view. It features a fitness center equipped by the top American producer Precor. The hotel offers a direct access to the Aphrodite Beauty Spa & Health Clinic, a unique facility for the Bulgarian Black Sea coast which is combination of a spa and medical center located on an area of 2 300 square meters.
