Society | August 1, 2002, Thursday // 00:00
More and more tourists prefer to spend their summer holidays in Bulgaria and Turkey, German Suddeutsche Zeitung writes in its latest issue. According to the article in the Munich newspaper the Black Sea coast and Bulgaria in particular, after being ignored for a long time, are turning now into this season's hit. The regional newspaper Der Neue Tag claims that there are no vacancies already at the Bulgarian Black Sea resorts, which are offered by the local tourists agencies. Bulgaria is a newly discovered country by the tourists where one can get tanned at a low price, the article reads. Families with children predominate among the German tourists in Bulgaria. Data shows that currently some 50% of all 16,100 tourists at the resort of Albena come from Germany, the guests from the Scandinavian countries are 1720.
