Bulgarian environmentalists will stage a protest Wednesday in downtown Sofia dedicated to the protection of the Pirin mountain region in Southwest Bulgaria.
The businessman Tseko Minev, Head of the Bulgarian Ski Federation, is accused of wrongdoings in the Pirin National Park by the rally's organizers. They claim he owns a territory double as big as his concession allows.
"We demand that the Bulgarian government should inform the society about the vast territory owned by Minev and what has been going on there...Why does the state allow the Pirin National Park's destruction?," representatives of the organizers, the Bulgarian Green party, say.
The protest is scheduled for 9:00 on "Nezavisimost" (Independence) square in Sofia.
