Bulgaria: The Cabinet denies the participation of Alexei Petrov in the "Assembly" as he only provided “Logistics”
Did Alexey Petrov participate in the "assembly" of the cabinet - the comments continue today
Bulgaria's Minister of Interior Tsvetan Tsvetanov has Thursday openly accused President Georgi Parvanov of having established ties with the country's notorious world of crime and murky business.
"It is a pity that just a few people have realized that Parvanov is the political back of Alexei Petrov," said Tsvetanov at a press conference in Veliko Tarnovo.
The interior minister seemed offended that the President failed to voice a position on the recent attacks on the policies and integrity of cabinet, in particular accusations raised against Tsvetanov of unlawfully acquiring properties.
The accusations were voiced by controversial party RZS after a meeting of its leader Yane Yanev with Alexei Petrov, who had recently been released from detainment.
In addition to claiming that Parvanov has consistently given political backing to Petrov, Tsvetanov reiterated allegations made Wednesday by former socialist Plamen Nikolov, who accused Parvanov of using influence to the business advantage of Alexei Petrov and forming stable power ties with him.
