The Cabinet adopted amendments and supplements to the regulation on calculating prices and tariffs of electricity, heating and natural gas in accordance with last week’s ruling of the Supreme Administrative Court. Through its decision the Cabinet explains what goes under the heading of “other expenses”, which is part of the way prices are calculated. The other expenses, according to the Cabinet’s decision, include fees for transport of spent fuel, free of charge food, insurances, fuel for auto transport, security and court expenses. On July 18 five members of the Supreme Administrative Court repealed the texts of the three regulations on calculating the prices and tariffs of electricity, heating and natural gas. Under the court ruling the inclusion of “other expenses” in the formulations is prohibited. The way these prices are calculated must be clear and accessible, the court ruled. In the opinion of its five members definitions such as "other expenses" only serve corporate interests. Prices remain unchanged.
