The scorching weather that recently swept Bulgaria is coming to an end and the next week will bring lower temperatures and winds, forecasts say.

Highs are forecast to vary between 28C and 33C across the country on Saturday and Sunday, but the heat will come off the boil on Monday, when spells of cold air will cool it from the sweltering weather and push the mercury down.

Lows have been set to range between 5C and 10C.

The new week will also bring scattered rain showers in western and central Bulgaria.
