Prime Minister Simeon Saxe-Coburg talked Thursday with US Committee on NATO Chairman Bruce Jackson. The two discussed the 2002 NATO summit in Prague. Jackson told journalists that Saxe-Coburg expressed his concern about the crisis in Macedonia. According to Jackson, Saxe-Coburg keeps close contact with NATO and the EU. Jackson said his personal opinion is that Bulgaria`s position on this issue is in unison with the Euro-Atlantic approach. According to him solving the Macedonian crisis will need better NATO-EU coordination and a more committed effort. It is absolutely clear that without the contribution of Bulgaria and Romania there is no chance for lasting peace in Europe, he said. Jackson presented before Saxe-Coburg US President George W. Bush`s theory about NATO enlargement.
