Bulgaria's labor union Confederation of Bulgarian Independent Syndicates, KNSB, campaign against the proposals for amendments to the Social Insurance Act is given a start Thursday.

The beginning of the campaign is marked by the building of a tent camp in the park adjacent to the Parliament in downtown Sofia.

The labor union will collect signatures demanding the Parliament strikes the amendments. The activists will also distribute leaflets to those who want to learn more about the amendments. The KNSB leadership will be present.

The labor union further announced they are staging a nation-wide protest for October 7 over the administrative, health and retirement reform.

The launch of the campaign comes just one day after the passing away of the KNSB longtime leader – Dr. Zhelyazko Hristov.
