State Chief Health Inspector Recommends Nationwide Anti-Covid Measures
I recommend the stringent anti-Covid measures to be applied nationwide.
The upcoming school year in Bulgaria will begin without problems and with the cooperation of all social partners of the Education Ministry, Minister Sergey Ignatov stated Saturday.
About 100 municipalities have declared readiness to introduce pre-school classes while pre-school education will become mandatory for all in 2012.
Ignatov said the education budget is limited – just BGN 7.5 M plus another BGN 1.5 for busing of children who live in remote areas.
In addition to pre-school education, there is a planned funding for all-day classes in grade one.
According to a poll conducted across Bulgaria, 85% of Bulgarians support pre-school education, Ignatov informs.
The Minister promised to reveal the name of his new deputy next Tuesday, which is the first workday in Bulgaria in the upcoming week. Deputy Education Minister, Milka Kodzhabashieva, was dismissed Friday as a result of a scandal involving regulations with questionable ethnic self-determination provisions.
Igantov pointed out the new person would be someone who knows what policies the Ministry will carry out in the next 15 years.
