Speculations that Johnny Depp is on an incognito visit to Bulgaria's southern coastal city of Burgas were dealt a heavy blow on Wednesday after photos surfaced in the media showing him on the Hawaii.

Depp, who wore a pair of board shorts and a not-so-attractive moustache for his latest film role, has been joined by his long-term partner, French singer and actress Vanessa Paradis.

Paradis has joined Depp on location as he films the fourth installment of the Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise, On Stranger Tides. The movie is due to open in cinemas on May 20, 2011.

Meanwhile a viewer of Bulgaria's biggest private TV channel bTV, who adopted the role of a paparazzi photographer, managed to take pictures of the man, believed to be Johnny Depp.

There is no official information about the Bulgarian visit of the actor, who is undoubtedly the numero uno amongst the fairer sex, but speculations abound.

Some claim Depp is in Bulgaria to meet French top model Laetitia Casta, who will be the star of the new movie of Bulgarian director Kamen Kalev, whose first feature film “Eastern Plays” became an international hit.

Others believe that the actor, who is also actively involved in music projects, has come to the country together with the UK Band The Prodigy to join the festival the Spirit of Burgas on the Black Sea coast.

Nonbelievers say that the fuss over Captain Jack Sparrow visit to Bulgaria is nothing but a PR trick, aimed to promote the recently renovated hotel in Burgas.
