Jerald Schiff, the new Mission Leader of the International Monetary Fund for Bulgaria arrived on a brief get-acquainted visit to Bulgaria Tuesday. `The purpose of this visit is not to reach a new agreement but basically to hear the new government`s priorities and its views of the future relationship with the IMF`, Schiff said. According to him the next agreement between Bulgaria and the IMF will not be a three-year one. It is not clear yet whether the agreement will be backed by financing or not. Schiff described the country`s economic fundamentals as `very strong`. During his brief stay in Bulgaria, the IMF official will meet with the managers of the central bank and the new Finance Minister Milen Velchev.
