The US rapper Everlast has canceled his participation in the Bulgarian summer music festival Spirit of Burgas, the organizers have announced.
Everlast has sent a letter to the organizers of Spirit of Burgas to explain that when he went back to Los Angeles for a one-day vacation from his tour, he was infected with a virus.
The doctors of the rapper have ordered him to stay in the United States and have forbidden him to take long trips before he was fully recovered.
“I am really sorry that my sickness prevented me from coming to Bulgaria. I hope to be invited again next year to fulfill my business duties, and more importantly, to perform for my fans at Spirit of Burgas. I apologize again for not being able to participate in the festival,” the letter said.
Everlast has also explained that he has been touring in Europe and Asia in the past six weeks and his concert at Spirit of Burgas was the end of his tour and was planned to be very special.
The organizers have announced that although the performance of the Grammy-Award winner was part of the festival and not an independent concert, people who have bought tickets for August 14, when Everlast was supposed to take the stage, will be able to return their tickets and receive their money back.
Now, the organizers have to face the challenge to find a replacement for Everlast, who was supposed to perform on the main stage on the second day of the festival.
