Bolton new boy, Bulgarian Martin Petrov, has made it clear that he is more than happy to leave Manchester City behind.

“I am not an 18-year-old boy. It was the first time in my career when I have not played and the communication with me was so bad. No one spoke with me,” said Petrov, as cited by local media.

“The only person I want to thank at City is the physio and not the other guys. I want to make that clear. I spent the last two months with the physio getting myself right.“

In his words the first year at City was very positive and the team gave him a chance to play in the Premier League but the last two years were very difficult.

Petrov added: “It was a very difficult moment for me because I did not play for six months. Everyone knew I had knee problems so it was a tough decision for the manager at Bolton to sign me.”

Manchester City midfielder Martin Petrov joined the Bolton Wanderers on a free transfer on 1 July.

The Bulgarian winger has been a target for many clubs after Manchester City decided to allow him to leave the club after his contract expired.

Everton, Aston Villa and Blackburn Rovers were expected to battle it out for Manchester City winger.

Petrov, who was Bulgarian Footballer of the Year in 2006, has previously played for German club Wolfsburg.

He has also made 77 appearances for Bulgaria, scoring 19 international goals.
