Seven tourist sites along Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast will be closed following the state body for consumer protection inspections at hotels, restaurants, and places of entertainment for violations of clients' rights.
The inspectors check up if the category of the place fits the quality of service and whether there are separate price lists for charging Bulgarian and foreign visitors, a common practice until recently, which has now been banned by law.
Tourist agencies are also targets of inspections, checked for registration, professional insurance, contract conditions, registry of complaints, etc.
The raids are part of a campaign of the Commission for Consumer Protection for seasonal inspections of resorts.
During the first check of the commission at the beginning of the summer season the body registered 54 cases of violations and issued 4 temporary closing orders.
