Bulgarian Black Sea Resorts: Anticipating Summer Boom Despite Aviation Hurdles
As the arrival of warmer weather beckons, hotels lining the Bulgarian Black Sea coasts are gearing up to welcome the first wave of sea tourists
The state body for consumer protection said it is starting inspections at hotels, restaurants, and places of entertainment in seaside resorts for violations of clients' rights.
The inspectors are to check up if the category of the place fits the quality of service and whether there are separate price lists for charging Bulgarian and foreign visitors, a common practice until recently, which has now been banned by law.
Tourist agencies will also be targets of inspections, checked for registration, professional insurance, contract conditions, registry of complaints, etc.
The raids are part of a campaign of the Commission for Consumer Protection for seasonal inspections of resorts.
During the first check of the commission at the beginning of the summer season the body registered 54 cases of violations and issued 4 temporary closing orders.
