Oslo extradited another 150 Bulgarian Gypsies with a Balkan Airlines flight to Sofia. The Norwegian authorities paid the travel expenses, including buss transport to Rousse. According to the Norwegian side, some 900 Bulgarian Roma have filed requests for political asylum. Later on 200 requests have been withdrawn, and 169 were considered and rejected by the authorities. Several tourist agencies, based in Sofia and Rousse, had been luring the Roma convincing them they can find jobs in the distant northern country without having the corresponding type of visa, some of the passengers explained. In Norway they have been accommodated in refugee camps. The Federation of United Roma Communities wants to meet the Norwegian ambassador, based in Bucharest, and require their losses to be covered, said the federation`s chair Vassil Danev.
