A large-scale grid failure left one of Bulgaria’s most top mountain resorts Borovetz without electricity overnight.

The resort in the Rila mountain lost power at about 2 am Monday, and it has not been recovered till the start of the working day.

Teams of power utility CEZ, which is in charge of electricity supply in Western Bulgaria, have been working through the night in order to fix the problem.

The company has notified the hotel and restaurant owners in the resort about its actions. Borovetz is busiest in the winter months but it also features summer vacation opportunities.
