The Association of Palestinians in Bulgaria has staged a protest rally against the blockade of the Gaza Strip by Israeli forces.

The rally comes in the wake of Monday’s incident in which Israeli commandos stormed a convoy of humanitarian vessels bound for Gaza killing at least nine people, and detaining dozens including two Bulgarian journalists.

Several dozens of Palestinians and Bulgarian citizens protested in Sofia demanding the access of humanitarian aid to Gaza, a release of the detained persons, and cooperation on part of Israel for the establishment of an international commission to investigate the case.

Late Tuesday night, Prime Minister Boyko Borisov declared that Bulgaria denounced all kinds of violence and that its position coincided with that of NATO and the EU demanding a quick investigation of the attack.

"It is nothing less than the ultimate in hypocrisy to decry the Israelis for doing exactly what ANY OTHER NATION IN THE WORLD WOULD DO!!!"

You can rant as much as you want, it will not change facts. The attack happened in international waters, and with the possible exception of North-Korea, no country in the world is violating international law as Israel does with its raid.

Well, Mrgay, I guess you think that Jews should allow murderous genocidal maniacs like Hamas to get new weapons and supplies with which they can continue their apartheid regime and war against the Jews. No thanks. This was an attack on Israel authorized by Turkey, it was an act of war against the Jews by Turkey. Turkey should be investigated by an inpartial group, like, AIPAC.

@mrgay

Mr gay?!? You have a big mouth, but you work both end, right?

For you and Feister:

The San Remo Manual on International Law Applicable to Armed Conflicts at Sea, 12 June 1994:

SECTION V : NEUTRAL MERCHANT VESSELS AND CIVIL AIRCRAFT

Neutral merchant vessels

67. Merchant vessels flying the flag of neutral States may not be attacked unless they:

(a) are believed on reasonable grounds to be carrying contraband or breaching a blockade, and after prior warning they intentionally and clearly refuse to stop, or intentionally and clearly resist visit, search or capture;

(b) engage in belligerent acts on behalf of the enemy;

(c) act as auxiliaries to the enemy s armed forces;

(d) are incorporated into or assist the enemy s intelligence system;

(e) sail under convoy of enemy warships or military aircraft; or

(f) otherwise make an effective contribution to the enemy s military action, e.g., by carrying military materials, and it is not feasible for the attacking forces to first place passengers and crew in a place of safety. Unless circumstances do not permit, they are to be given a warning, so that they can re-route, off-load, or take other precautions.

Dogen: there is no humanitarian crisis in Gaza, all problems all caused by Hamas terrorist

Volkischer Beobachter c 1943: there is no humanitarian crisis in Auschwitz, any trouble caused by Communist Bolshevik terrorists

Fisted

The Israelis - like ALL nations - have a right of self-defense, that is granted in numerous UN resolutions.

The Israelis, and a host of other nations much too numerous to detail here, have declared Hamas a terrorist organisation and instituted an embargo on any weapons imports by them.

Should a ship embark cargo in Marseille, Lisbon, London, Amsterdam or ANY OTHER WESTERN port and REFUSE inspection, the MOMENT it left port that country's navy would be tasked with stopping it for inspection by ANY MEANS NECESSARY. Including the use of deadly force.

It is nothing less than the ultimate in hypocrisy to decry the Israelis for doing exactly what ANY OTHER NATION IN THE WORLD WOULD DO!!!

Dogen et al:

I see that most of the day has in fact been occupied with the raging debate over whether the Israelis are the good guys or the bad guys. I suggest we declare the question moot and move on.

I've spent most of the afternoon and evening with the French Open tennis matches. One star after another has been knocked out of the competition, and the next couple of days are going to be cliffhangers.

Nellie,

It is obvious that the new axis it now Iran, Syria, Turkey
with their small metastatic organizations Like Hamas,
Hizbulla, Al Quida.

Turkish president want to see himself as the leader of
the Arabs, but they all fail to understand that By doing so,
in such a brutal way, it will very well may lead to a
global conflict. And he is stupid enough to threat Israel
as from all the arms Israel sold Turkey, he should know
better not to deal with Israel.

I heard today that The Turkish president had the audacity to
tell Obama that he (Obama) has to choose between Israel or
Turkey !!!! clearly the man lost his mind.

As for your term “vermin”….i think it’s a little to harsh, after
all I’m sure that not all Turkish people think like their insane,
irresponsible president.

And in addition to Hamas getting out of Gaza, Turkey should mind its own business and stop aligning itself with the bad guys in the region, such as Hamas and Iran. Erdogan is now best friends with Ahmadinejad. The two hate mongers are now sleeping together. How sick is that?!? Turkey is playing a very dishonorable and dishonest role in this conflict. Slimy, dirty Turkish vermin! I would be very careful about the ethnic Turkish population in Bulgaria.

Nellie

You are right.

For conditions to get better in Gaza,
Hamas needs to step down, allow Palestinian
president gain control of ALL Palestinian
people and its Institutions, continue with
the peace talks and end the conflict.

Sarkan

First I’m sorry to hear that you had some times in
your life when you had nothing to eat,
me personally never had that experience.

Allow me to remind you that prior to the Hamas
take-over of Gaza, Israel was very close to
Complete peace with the Palestinians, meaning
the people led by Abu Mazen. However since
Hamas took over things changed, even for the
Palestinians living at the west bank.

Many people from Gaza try to escape to the
west bank, and you know what happens to them?
They either get murdered by Hamas militants or are
denied entry to the west bank by Abu Mazen (Palestinian president).
You cant (and I don’t mean you personally) always and just blame Israel,
The Palestinian president doesn’t want to have anything with Hamas and so does Egyptian president.

Tell me, WHY is the border between Gaza and Egypt closed???
Hamas is a terror organization, even Egypt knows that.

You will probably say that Hamas fires rockets into Israel
because of the embargo eh?....
what a joke, tell me, why people in the West bank
DO NOT fire rocket?

"They should lift this embargo, it makes things worse even for Israel. Hamas get more powerful while desperate people join them."

That's not going to happen. The embargo will be lifted if and when Hamas leaves Gaza.

Dogen,

"Israel, each day passes good such as food, medical
aid and other via the open Gaza-Israel border"

There was not any single instant in my life that I had my refrigerator empty or I did not have any supermarket nearby full of food. I think it is the same for you, same for all of us. But not same for Palestinians. If Israel let the food pass, you have it. If it does not let, you starve. No one but Israel decides for you. If anyone else want to break this rule, he dies. Remember the last humanitarian aid ship killings. Is this fair? How much relief it would give you, if you were Palestinian and expecting Israel to let the food in today? Or if your child is ill and you are waiting if Israel will let the medicine you need today? Simply what Israel does, is inhuman. They should lift this embargo, it makes things worse even for Israel. Hamas get more powerful while desperate people join them.

drfaust

The UN is not a terror organization.

As for Goldstone, Mr. Goldstone was a Judge during the apartheid
government is south-Africa, he himself sent lots of innocent blacks
to long and hard imprisonment, I really don’t think he is an authority
on human rights, or you deny his role on during apartheid?

I did say, life there is not pleasant, all your quotes show words like:
"unacceptable suffering"
"hopelessly unbalanced,"
BUT not humanitarian crisis !

And as for Goldstone and crime against humanity,
What about Hamas firing rockets Into Israeli cities?
What do you have to say about that?

Before you answer, let me remind you Israel does not occupy
Gaza or west bank anymore, so WHY FIRE ROCKETS ???
