Bulgaria’s Education Ministry has taken extra security measures for the national seventh-graders’ exam after the recent senior examination was marred by scandalous information leaks.

Over 62 000 Bulgarian schoolchildren completing seventh grade are taking Thursday a national educational exam.

About half of these are also sitting in the same day for an entrance exam for foreign language and math high schools around the country.

After the topics for the recent high-school ending examination were leaked the night before, and one accountant from the Education Ministry was arrested, this time only Education Minister Sergey Ignatov and two other experts knew in advance the questions for the seventh-graders’ exam.
