Politics | July 21, 2001, Saturday // 00:00

For the first time in 11 years the Turkish minority dominated Movement for Rights and Freedoms will have its ministers in the cabinet. Following 7 rounds of negotiations that lasted for 3 weeks, the NMS II and the MRF agreed to run the country together. Simeon Saxe-Coburg and Ahmed Dogan signed a coalition agreement in the parliament at 3.00 p.m. on Friday. All disputes between the partners will be resolved through negotiations. If they fail to come to terms, the MRF may `reconsider its participation in the coalition deal,` says the document.

MRF takes over:
Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry
Post of a Minister without portfolio in charge of emergency situations
Five posts of deputy ministers - of economy, finance, defence, environment and regional development
MRF will have regional governors in Razgrad, Targovishte and Greater Sofia.
