SOFIA TO BECOME BALKAN PROFESSIONAL BOXING CAPITAL

Within a few months Sofia will become the capital of the Balkan professional boxing world, Bulgarian Boxing Union (BGBU) President Vassil Kirov announced. Sofia will host the constituent congress of a Balkan Boxing Union (BKBU), to be based also in the Bulgarian capital for four years. Ukraine, a non-Balkan country, has also been invited to membership, besides Macedonia, Romania, Yugoslavia and Bulgaria. Professional boxing is not yet practiced in Greece and Turkey. The decision on the BKBU was made at a meeting in Belgrade between representatives of the BGBU and the Yugoslav Professional Boxing Federation.
