One of the alleged ringleaders of Bulgaria's notorious kidnap gang known as “The Impudent”, Prokopi Prokopiev aka Poli Kulturista (The Bodybuilder) married his girlfriend in jail Thursday.
Gabriella was first scheduled to tie the knot with Prokopiev on February 11, but their attempted wedding failed over a Prosecutor's ban.
In addition to the Bodybuilder and Gabriella, the 30-minute long ceremony was attended only by Prokopiev's defense council and two witnesses.
Gabriella declined comments for reporters except saying “she wished herself good health and a better, more normal development of things.”
The Bodybuilder is believed to be one of the ringleaders of the notorious kidnap gang that had been making the lives of wealthy Bulgarians a nightmare in the last years. Police say it was Prokopiev, who cut fingers of the victims and sent them to relatives to make them pay the ransom faster.
