HIGHER SALARIES FOR MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT

Members of Parliament will receive base monthly salary of BGN 750, which is three times the average monthly wage of the employed in the public sector. The salaries increased by BGN 90 than in the 38th national Assembly. They will be re-calculated every quarter. The parliamentary speaker will receive 50% more than the MPs, the deputy chairs-40%. The chairs of parliamentary committees will get salaries 30% higher than the base, those of the deputy chairs of parliamentary committees will be 20% higher. The members of the committees will be paid 10% more than the MPs. MPs who are unduly absent from a session of the parliament will be fined two-thirds of their monthly remunerations. For committee members who fail to attend a session of the committee, the fine will be one-third of the monthly pay.
