The second unit of the KOZLODUY Nuclear Power Plant was re-connected to the national grid after completing the planned annual outage and reached 50% of its capacity on Wednesday. The sixth unit is still in annual outage. The remaining 4 units are functioning at their nominal capacity, producing 2,500 MW overall.

The HYDRO POWER PLANTS COMPANY in Sofia plans to build two small plants in the Apriltsi municipality. The permit issued by the Environmental Ministry is valid until 2011. The term for completing construction is February 2003. The Apriltsi HPP will have a capacity of 575 kW, the Zora HPP 370 kW.
