The health condition of all 3 Bulgarian rangers, injured during a Taliban rocket attack in Kandahar is improving rapidly, the Bulgarian Defense Ministry informs.

Sergeant Alexander Alexandrov, who sustained the most serious injuries, and was initially in a coma, has been taken off life support; he can talk and move his arms and legs.

Private, Yavor Ivanov, who had leg and ankle injuries, is listed at the Plastic Surgery Clinic for additional reconstructive ankle surgery.

Corporal Yordan Petkov, who sustained stomach wounds, is recovering quickly, and after the surgeries can move freely.

The fourth ranger – Private Lachezar Ivanov had very light injuries and has been released from the hospital.

The 4 Bulgarian rangers were injured during a Taliban rocket attack on the Kandahar airport in Afghanistan on January 24.
