After two successful special operations codenamed “The Impudent” against gangs who planned and executed high-profile kidnappings in Bulgaria, prosecutors have said more arrests are to come.

“The movie called “The Impudent” will certainly have a follow-up,” Deputy Sofia Prosecutor Roman Vassilev said in an interview for Pro.BG, but refused to disclose details.

“All cases against the kidnap gangsters, in which they are accused of 13 crimes and abductions, have been brought together into one trial,” Vassilev explained.

He expressed the hope that Sofia City Court will give the go-ahead to the trial in two months.

The high-profile kidnappersgang is believed to be responsible for 19 cases of kidnappings of rich Bulgarians. It was busted in a special operation codenamed “The Impudent” in December 2009. A total of 30 people were arrested initially, 10 were left behind bars.
