Bulgaria Construction Production Slumps 22% Y/Y: Bulgaria Construction Production Slumps 22% Year-on-Year In the January – November period of 2009, the total construction production in Bulgaria was down 13,8% compared to the same period of 2008. File Photo

The construction production in Bulgaria in November 2009 has registered an 11% decrease compared to October and was down 22% on yearly basis.

The data was released Monday by the National Statistics Institute (NSI).

In November 2009, building construction is down 12,5% compared to October and down 28,3% compared to November 2008.

In civil engineering construction the slump is not as significant – 7,5% and 8,5% respectively, but civil engineering has a lower share in the total production.

In the January – November period of 2009, the total construction production was down 13,8% compared to the same period of 2008, with a 19% reduction in building construction and 2,8% reduction in civil engineering construction.
