CASE AGAINST PLAMA FORMER RECEIVER POSTPONED

Business | July 18, 2001, Wednesday // 00:00

The lawsuit against Nova Plama`s former receiver, Nikolay Penev was postponed for a second time by the Pleven Regional Court. According to the prosecutor, Penev has committed breach of trust and has caused damages to the company amounting to BGN 150,000. According to the indictment Penev has paid a fee to lawyer Yordan Nikolov without having this right. Nikolov presented Plama`s interests in an administrative-civil case, which is a duty of the receiver. The reason for postponing the hearings was the failure of the defendant`s lawyer to appear in court due to official engagements. The Court postponed the hearings for September 12. Minutes after the decision was announced, Penev stated the lawsuit was fabricated by Plama`s management. According to him, that would become clear after the court proceeds with the case.
