SIEMENS TO DEVELOP 3G MOBILE SYSTEM IN BG

Siemens plans to build a third-generation mobile communications system in Bulgaria in 2004, the company`s General Manager Uwe Quecke announced. The Bulgarian Government plans to license an operator of a 3G mobile network in 2005. Although the developed countries have already licensed operators, they have not put into operation Universal Mobile Telecommunications Systems yet. UMTS gives access to services such as phone service, videoconferencing, e-commerce, Internet, telemetry, training and control of domestic appliances. The systems provide broadband information as well as voice and data direct to people on the move.
