BALKAN COUNTRIES SET UP COUNCIL

The chiefs responsible for protection of the population in case of natural disasters and major accidents in BG, Macedonia, Slovenia and Croatia signed an agreement setting up a Council for Civil-Military Emergency Planning of the countries of Southeastern Europe.
Representatives of Albania, Romania and the US attended the official ceremony. Greece, Turkey, Romania and Albania participated from the outset in the establishment of the Council. Turkey and Greece did not sign the agreement for technical reasons.
