The ‘Bulgarian Christmas’ charity has launched its seventh appeal on Monday. Set up by President Georgi Parvanov in 2002, it exists “to give a child hope”.
The charity collects funds each year to pay for the treatment of sick children, and for buying medical equipment for children’s hospitals and clinics.
To date, ‘Bulgarian Christmas’ has raised over BGN 14,5 M. This has enabled the medical treatment of almost 400 children, and ambulances donated to over 90 childrens’ clinics.
Last year, despite the economic downturn, Bulgarians donated BGN 3,6 M. On the occasion of that announcement, President Parvanov, who is also the Patron of the charity, asked: “Why is "The Bulgarian Christmas" successful? It is because it is transparent, honest, and has a cause worth engaging all of us.”
The public can make donations in a number of ways: calls and text messages to number 1117 for M-Tel, Vivacom and Globul, 0900 1117 from a BTC phone
or they can make a bank transfer to UBB
IBAN: BG13UBBS80023300186210
BIC code: UBBSBGSF
