The Bulgarian king who was never crowned made history on the international political scene when he became the first person with royal blood to participate in parliamentary elections, to win the elections (convincingly), and after a month of uncertainty, to stand as candidate for prime minister.

According to one international expert on Bulgarian affairs, the protagonist in this novel-like life story, Bulgarian King Simeon II, can be placed in the "political science fiction" category...

He probably never even thought that he would make such a comeback in his country when he decided to return and contribute to the campaign for a democratic and free Bulgaria. He probably never believed that would happen, since the law forbade him to participate in the Bulgarian presidential elections. However, when he formed the national movement which carries his name it set off a political storm, which engulfed all of Bulgaria. The fact that these events were overshadowed by the Macedonian crisis, meaning the international community's attention was not concentrated on Sofia so much, is a different story...

Although he was presented on the election list as the leader of the party, he was not a candidate for prime minister, because, as he said, the prime ministerial position should go to "some professional", a person more experienced in parliamentary life.

Judging by the epilogue (he decided to stand for prime minister despite all his statements that he would not do so), it would be no surprise if he decides to act contrary to his other statement when he said that he was not interested in the concept of "parliamentary monarchy", as his priority was the economy, which is actually his real profession.

If he cannot return the monarchy in Bulgaria (something for which he will need much more votes in the assembly than he has members in the coalition), then we would not be too wrong if we guess that he could even stand for president of the country in the future, with which he would go from prime minister with royal blood to "moral king of Bulgaria".
