Daniel Mitov Ready for Foreign Minister Role Amid Geopolitical Test in Bulgaria
Daniel Mitov, Deputy Chairman of GERB, has expressed his readiness to assume the position of Acting Foreign Minister
The Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) issued a statement before Friday’s parliament session in which they criticized the actions of the new rightist GERB cabinet.
BSP leader Sergey Stanishev said that “100 days after taking control, the government has still not taken concrete action to combat the financial crisis.”
Stanishev continued; "The crisis requires concrete action rather than bare promises. GERB has proved to be a party strong on promises but weak on actions. The main objective of any government is to improve the welfare of its citizens. In Bulgaria, the opposite is happening, unfortunately."
Union of Democratic Forces (UDF) leader Martin Dimitrov and far-right ‘Ataka’ leader Volen Siderov both then jumped to defend the Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria’s (GERB) cabinet.
Dimitrov stated; “Mr. Stanishev, we get tired of the same thing every week. It's like you cause a serious accident and then get out and start analyzing it from the side saying - It is a very bad crash, very severe! Well, yeah, right, you caused it. "
