AremisSoft, US based company, listed at Nasdaq (AREM) having the contract for developing phase one and two of the project (worth USD 3.7 million) will participate in the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) biddings for completing the third and fourth phase of the institution’s IT system. According to data released so far, completing the last two phases of the project would total USD 8.4 million, although it is possible that the amount drops drastically as the bidding takes place, according to Dnevnik daily. AremisSoft will compete for the project most probably with Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard and IBM, Dnevnik adds. Apart from software development tasks, there will also be biddings for the supply of hardware to medics, dentist, pharmacies and hospitals. AremisSoft director for Bulgaria Vasil Kolev said that if the company did not win the competition for the third and fourth phases, it would offer a scheme for leasing supply of computers to the out-of-hospital medical specialists.
