Bulgaria's Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, met Thursday with Xi Jinping, the Vice President of the People’s Republic of China.
“China is a top partner of Bulgaria in Asia, and our country will continue this policy,” Borisov told his guest, who is on a two-day visit dedicated to the 60th anniversary since the establishing of diplomatic relations between the two states.
Borisov assured Xi Jinping that the Bulgarian government was going to lend support to all Chinese investors. He invited Chinese firms to come to Bulgaria and to invest in sectors such as energy, industrial zones, tourism, agriculture, saying there was hardly any better time to do that.
“The boosting of our trade and economic relations with Bulgaria is very important for us, and China is going to encourage Bulgarian firms to enter the Chinese market,” PRC’s Vice President said in turn.
The two sides agreed that the bilateral economic relations, which amounted to USD 1,33 B at the end of 2010, could be boosted substantially.
“Bulgaria has always supported us on crucial issues, our relations with Bulgaria are important, you are our friends,” Xi Jinping declared.
Prime Minister Borisov stressed Bulgaria had always adhered to the principle of “One China”, and invited his Chinese counterpart Wen Jiabao on an official state visit.
Later in the day Xi Jinping discussed Bulgaria-China bilateral relations with President, Georgi Parvanov.
