Correction: Not Responsible for Fixing Bulgarian Football Match

Sports | October 13, 2009, Tuesday // 14:09

On September 24, 2009, published an article entitled “President of Bulgaria Levski FC Receives Russian Phone Threats”.

The article was based on information from the Bulgarian 24 Chasa Daily which wrongly suggested that the Asian gambling website was responsible for fixing the football match between Levski and CSKA.

On October 8, 2010, the 24 Chasa Daily published a correction stating that it later became clear that were not involved in any match-fixing scams, and apologized to for publishing the untrue information.

The 24 Chasa Daily also said the misleading information that were involved in fixing the match between Levski and CSKA came from sources from the management of the Levski FC, who presented the information publicly, and it was distributed to all Bulgarian media.

As it has become clear that the information on presented by the 24 Chasa Daily was untrue, would like to state that we now fully accept that were in no way involved in any alleged plot to fix the match, and that the movement of the betting price on their website was solely due to genuine betting patterns.

We express our deep regrets over the inadvertent suggestion based on information from the Levski FC and the 24 Chasa Daily that were involved in any match fixing activities in any way.
