Bulgaria’s Foreign Ministry has expressed its satisfaction with the normalization of the ties between Turkey and Armenia.

“We are convinced that with this act the two countries remove the barriers before the development of their relations, and contribute to the strengthening of peace and good neighborliness in the South Caucasus and the Black Sea region,” reads the statement of the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry.

On Saturday, Armenia and Turkey signed in Zurich two protocols – for establishing diplomatic relations, and for reopening their border which has been closed since 1993.
