Spaska Mitrova, the young Macedonian mother with Bulgarian passport who was released Thursday from jail after a controversial sentence, is eager to come and live in Bulgaria.

This has been announced by Mitrova’s mother, Suzana Mitrova, as cited by Darik Radio. More information on Mitrova’s release is available HERE.

Mitrova is said to be eager to move to Bulgaria as long as she receives offers for help in order to support herself and her child.

Spaska’s mother has also said Mitrova is going to visit Sofia as soon as possible, and is going to thank personally all those who have supported her during her ordeal.

The only issue that could stop Mitrova from moving to live in Bulgaria would be if the Macedonian authorities try to prevent her from taking her daughter with her.

Bulgaria’s 24 Chasa Daily published a statement by Suzana Mitrova saying Spaska had called her two days ago, and had told her she had been threatened, and which point the connection was terminated.

No detailed information is available about those threats, and it is unclear where Thursday’s release of Mitrova for “good behavior” might have anything to do with them. According to the Spokesperson of Bulgaria’s Foreign Ministry, Dragovest Goranov, the release is the result of the good relations between Bulgaria and Macedonia.

The Bulgarian nationalist party VMRO-BND, which is a descendant of the Internal Macedonian Revolutionary Organization from the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, has started a campaign to raise donations to help Spaska Mitrova who is unemployed in Macedonia, divorced, with a young child, and serious health problems.

The bank account for donations is: IBAN: BG90FINV91501204068333, BIC: FINVBGSF, First Investment Bank Jsc, Central Hali branch.
