Bulgaria’s Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, vowed to help Macedonian with Bulgarian passport, Spaska Mitrova, any way he could.
Mitrova was released Thursday from the prison in Skopje in advance for good behavior. More information READ HERE.
“I am ready to do for Spaska Mitrova whatever she wants. I am happy about her, that she was released but I just have no words about the Macedonian justice system,” Borisov declared.
Recently, Bulgaria’s Diaspora Minister, Bozhidar Dimitrov, said the government was ready to grant Bulgarian citizenship to Mitrova’s family because her relatives felt threatened. The abuse and suits against the woman started soon after she was granted Bulgarian citizenship at the beginning of 2009 on the bases of proving her Bulgarian origin.
According to Dimitrov and other Bulgarian officials, the connections between the two things is clear, and Mitrova is prosecuted with such ferocity because the Macedonian authorities wanted to send a clear message to the other Macedonians seeking Bulgarian citizenship.
