Amazon's Cloud Services Division Announces Layoffs
In a significant move that reverberates across the tech industry, Amazon has disclosed plans for substantial layoffs within its cloud services division
Webit – e-Business & e-Marketing Expo for Southeast Europe, which is the first of its kind in the region started in Bulgaria's capital Sofia on Wednesday.
The forum is taking place October 7-8, 2009, in the National Palace of Culture in Sofia. Its main focus is on the digital revolution in business in the new global technological environment.
Webit is organized by e-Academy – a Sofia-based international education institute which holds a governmental license for professional avocation center in the fields of management and digital marketing.
The forum consists of two parts – a conference, and an expo. The conference features speakers and lecturers from top global companies in the e-business field such Google, Coca-Cola, eBay, Yandex, Amazon, Guardian, Ciao, BBC, Bytemobile, AOL, PayPal.
Some of the more prominent speakers: are Norman Judah, Chief Technology Officer, Worldwide Services and IT, Microsoft; Christian Hernandez Gallardo, Google’s Head of New Markets; Alex Marks, head of International Business Marketing, eBay; Przemek Pluta, Sr. Manager, PayPal Poland; Prinz M. Pinakatt, Group Interactive Marketing Manager - Europe, Coca-Cola Europe Group; Alain Heureux, President & CEO of IAB Europe; Alexandra Deutsch, Managing Director Austria & VP Operator Relations, Out There Media; Saurav Chopra, Director of Internet Services for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Latin America; Plamen Russev, Chair of e-Academy and founder of design.bg Bulgaria.
The conference program includes panel discussions, sessions, and case studies related with online media, digital marketing, content management, hosting, e-trade, social networks, and Web 2.0, among others.
The exhibition section of Webit turns it into the only expo for e-Marketing in Southeast Europe, and the leading companies in the respective fields from the entire region are represented.
“Despite the global economic crisis, the first edition of Webit enjoys huge interest. Or maybe that is because of it.
