Authorities officially confirmed Monday that 2 of the 4 fatalities in the collapsed Prague building are Bulgarians.

Both are around 40 years of age and one is from Bulgaria's second largest city of Plovdiv, but their names remain unknown. The problem with identifying the bodies is attributed to the fact that they did not carry ID papers on them at the time of the Friday incident and were not registered at the dorm in Prague where they were staying.

The Czech police refuse to say the names and the nationalities of the victims before they are identified by relatives and autopsies are conducted.

The police is also continuing the probe in the cause of the tragic accident. If it is proven that work safety instructions were violated, the Czech law provides for 3 to 10 years behind bars.
