The Sofia Appellate Court has decided to keep behind bars the three policemen charged with receiving a BGN 2 000 bribe.

The three policemen from the 5th Police Department in Sofia - Mitko Velichkov, Yordan Mladenov, and Milen Ivanov - were busted on September 16 at the moment when they were receiving the bribe from two persons in order to cover up an investigation into a theft.

The ruling of the Appellate Court is based on the evidence for the guilt of the three men, and the fact that as policemen the three were supposed to enforce the laws, not to violate them.
