The Prime Minister of Bulgaria, Boyko Borisov, received Tuesday the Minister of National Defense of the People's Republic of China, Liang Guanglie
General Guanglie is on a four-day official visit to Bulgaria on the invitation of Bulgaria's Defense Minister, Nikolay Mladenov. This is his first trip to Bulgaria.
During the meeting Borisov and Guanglie discussed bilateral military cooperation and ways to encourage investments in Bulgaria and China.
The PM reminded that Bulgaria is the second country in the world to establish diplomatic relations with China, a country that is Bulgaria's main partner in Asia until today, and pointed out that Bulgaria supports the politics for "unified China."
The 60-year anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries will be marked in 2009.
Liang Guanglie offered high marks for the country's new cabinet and expressed condolences for the Ohrid tragedy in which 15 Bulgarians died Saturday, when the tour boat they were on went underwater.
Liang Guanglie's visit continues Wednesday with talks at the Defense Ministry
