Two preliminary investigations have been officially initiated by Bulgaria's Prosecutor's Office.

The investigations were triggered by signals submitted by the new Defense Minister, Nikolay Mladenov.

The first one involves a contract to provide entertainment at the Defense Ministry's vacation facilities for the 2009-2011 period, estimated at over BGN half million without the Value Added Tax (VAT).

The second investigation is of a contract for the supply of a production line for metal constructions, signed in June and worth BGN 10 M without VAT.

The investigation is over premeditated large-scale dereliction.
