Bulgaria Interior Minister, Tsvetan Tsvetanov, has stated that the legal framework for the elimination of competition between DANS and the Interior Ministry is now ready.
Tsvetanov was speaking on Bulgarian National Television just before the the first special joint teams of Bulgaria's State National Security Agency (DANS), the Interior Ministry, and the Prosecutor's Office are set to start working.
He said; "I believe that the staffing changes in the DANS and the trust that has been built between the management of the Interior Ministry and DANS, will contribute to a better coordination of our work."
The first special joint teams of DANS, the Interior Ministry, and the Prosecutor's Office will be functioning in the beginning of September, State Prosecutor, Boris Velchev announced on August 20. Their work will be concentrated on collecting evidences for important and difficult cases.
The main task of the specialists in the teams will be to secure sentences with the collected evidences, Velchev said, adding that there will be additional financial stimulation for the teams' members.
